The Blaptica Dubia or the Argentinian cockroach is a cockroach that grows to about 4-5 cm. They are therefore suitable as food for adult bearded dragons, water dragons and chameleons. Young dubias are suitable for smaller reptiles.
They grow best at a temperature of 25-30 degrees. At room temperature <20 degrees they do not breed and therefore this species is NOT a pest.
Dubias have a higher nutritional value than crickets and grasshoppers and are generally very well eaten by all kinds of reptiles.
Feed your terrarium animals varied and alternate with different types of food animals. Before feeding, we recommend dusting the food animals with nutritional supplements such as calcium and/or vitamin & mineral supplements.
