Hydrocotyle leucocephala (Brazilian ivy)
The Hydrocotyle leucocephala (Brazilian ivy) is an undemanding fast growing plant. The leaves alternate on the stem, and there are roots at each node. The leaves are roundish to kidney-shaped and incised. The main veins are visible on the leaves. Leaf margin is irregularly notched and the leaves are light green on top and whitish green on the underside. This species adapts very well to poor light situations, so that it is also suitable for less well-lit aquariums. The plant grows optimally in a nutrient-rich substrate. After a few days the stems can already reach the surface where they continue to grow floating.
