Myriophyllum matogrossense comes from the Mato Grosso in the Rio Amazonas, Brazil. It has decorative and feathery, reddish stems (30-60 cm long) and finely divided, bright green leaves (5 cm wide). In good light conditions, the leaves spread fan-shaped. Myriophyllum is relatively simple and suitable for the background. It needs regular pruning to maintain its bushy shape. It grows, but needs sufficient nutrients for this, provided it gets these, it is a good starter plant.
