Pogostemon erectus, is a decorative plant for the central zone or background. This aquarium plant comes from India and has a beautiful, bright green color, whose buds can even develop a warm glow under intensive lighting. The stems of 10-30cm and fresh plumes give a lively appearance to the aquarium.
Plant the stems separately with a few centimeters of space between them. Pogostemon will develop side shoots of its own, creating a dense forest. Stems that are too long are easy to prune, after which the plant will sprout again automatically. The plant does develop an impressive root system. Under intense lighting, growth will be more compact.
